Is your student on track?

Posted on: October 14, 2020

I wanted to clarify for everyone how to know if your student is on-track in terms of work completion here at the end of first quarter.

For students using VLA:

If a course has 18 units, the student should be finished with 9 units by the end of the week.  The status bar would reflect 50% completion.

If a course has 36 units, the student should be finished with 9 units by the end of the week.  The status bar would reflect 25% completion.

An exception to the above two statements are high school science courses.  Those should be listed as 36 unit courses, and the student should be finished with 18 units.  The status bar should show 50%.  This is because science courses are double-blocked.

For students using PLP:

We've set the starting date and ending date for each course to match the quarter and semester dates.  The status bar for each course should show 50%.

An exception to this would be science courses (but not AP science courses) that are divided into A and B sections.  In these cases, the A sections should be complete this week.

If a student is behind, it's important to create a plan to get back on track.  This can be accomplished by completing more than one unit in a day.

Thank you,
