Join us in congratulating this group of Community Builders from Bowman Primary School! They were honored at the October Board of Education meeting. The following students received praise: Lyron Anderson, Oakley Hollingsworth, River Koehler, Levi Musgrove, Isla Price, Emersyn Russell, Annabel Snyder, and Mazy Tucker. Lyron Anderson
Lyron is a wonderful example of a Community Builder through his inclusive heart, positive spirit, and dedication to making everyone feel valued. When his classroom recently welcomed a new student, Lyron immediately took the initiative to introduce himself and offer a warm welcome without ever being asked. His proactive kindness ensured the newest classmate felt included, supported, and at home right from their very first day. Lyron has a natural gift for recognizing opportunities to lift others up and make sure no one ever feels left out. Every morning, he enters the room with a contagious smile, an optimistic attitude, and a genuine readiness to do his best. His bright sense of humor and joyful energy bring light to the classroom, creating an inviting space where kindness thrives. By being a true friend to all and consistently building bridges of connection, he strengthens the bond of the entire group. Oakley Hollingsworth
Oakley is an extremely kind-hearted student who works hard every day to cultivate a friendly, welcoming environment for everyone in the classroom. He consistently looks for ways to lift others up, demonstrating a level of empathy and inclusion that goes far beyond his years. During a recent class activity, Oakley took the initiative to select a classmate who had never been picked before, showing a genuine desire to make sure every student feels noticed and valued. He truly gets excited when good things happen to others, regularly celebrating his peers with a bright smile and an encouraging thumbs-up whenever they are chosen for special helper roles. Oakley sets a wonderful example for the entire class by staying on task, following directions, and using appropriate voice levels. River Koehler
River exemplifies what it means to be a Community Builder through his proactive heart, encouraging spirit, and genuine care for others. When he notices a classmate struggling with a task, he steps right in with immediate support and uplifting words. He is the first to celebrate the success of his peers, offering enthusiastic applause and a warm hug to make them feel proud. River loves to be a helper, routinely offering his assistance before anyone even has a chance to ask. He works hard every day to remember and follow school expectations, creating a respectful and safe environment for everyone. By starting each morning with a bright smile, a kind greeting, and a hug for his teachers, he sets a joyful tone for the entire day. He gets along well with everyone and consistently works to ensure his peers feel included, valued, and respected. Levi Musgrove

In one memorable instance, Emmy took the time to gently explain a tricky concept to a classmate, helping them spot their mistake and gain total confidence in their learning. This spirit of generosity and quiet service is something she demonstrates on a regular basis without ever seeking praise. Zach Dakin, staff
Zach truly embodies the spirit of a Community Builder through his kindness, tireless work ethic, and genuine dedication to supporting everyone in our school. Since joining the custodial team at Bowman, he has consistently gone above and beyond to ensure the building is safe, clean, fresh, and welcoming for all who enter. He routinely solves problems for teachers and staff, whether managing room setups, handling heavy furniture, or tackling deep cleaning. Zach takes the time to truly listen to the needs of others, anticipating how he can make their work easier, faster, and more satisfying.
A standout example of his commitment occurred recently when a designated space required a massive deep clean to prepare for our new STREAM Lab. Zach was instrumental in clearing out old materials, scrubbing cabinets, and setting the stage for this exciting new learning space, all while seamlessly managing his regular cleaning, mowing, and facility duties. His strong focus and wise use of time ensure students and staff have an optimal environment in which to learn and grow every day. Zach earns frequent, glowing compliments across the district not just for the impeccable quality of his work, but for his exceptional kindness and uplifting presence. He builds community through every action, making a positive impact on Bowman Primary and Lebanon City Schools as a whole.
Sarah Hester, staff
Sarah Hester is a remarkably dedicated, compassionate, and positive member of the special education department for Lebanon City Schools, serving as a vital bridge between educators, families, and the broader community. She consistently goes above and beyond to ensure her students receive the personalized care and therapy they need to thrive both in the classroom and beyond. As a service provider working across multiple school locations, Sarah excels at bringing people together by uniting teachers, therapists, and staff to build optimal, highly collaborative plans of care. She actively seeks out co-treatment opportunities to enhance her students' functional communication and social skills in meaningful, everyday contexts.
Teachers across the district deeply appreciate Sarah’s proactive approach; she is always eager to observe children when staff have concerns and offers practical, thoughtful suggestions that benefit classroom environments.
