Taking Class Outside

Students on bridge at camp Joy

Over the last several weeks, our 6th grade Warriors were able to move their classrooms to the outdoors! Students spent 2 days at Camp Joy learning about wetlands, participating in team building activities and growing through experiential learning. Mrs. Friend shared, "It's so great to see our kids out of the classroom and observe other strengths emerge."

What did student's have to say about the experience? "Camp Joy was the most fun I've had in forever! It was amazing. We got to go in the creek and touch live animals. We also got to climb the Orion Tower." And also this - "Camp was really fun, I didn't want to go home, get on my phone, or do any thing else while I was there." The smiles in these pictures really says it all!

Thank you to our Berry families for their support as well! One of our chaperones shared, "Very grateful for the opportunity to chaperone a great group of Berry kids at Camp Joy, where the students were challenged mentally and physically while learning about our environment, climbing rock walls and participating in team building activities. The camp staff was engaging and fun while still keeping things educational and safe and I was so impressed with how all the kiddos represented our school!"

Thank you to everyone who made this such an impactful experience for our Warriors!
