Warrior Community Mourns Passing of Former Superintendent
Our Warrior community mourns the loss of Herbert Gardner, former Superintendent. Mr. Gardner led our district from 1981 to 1989.
Mr. Gardner's dedication to our schools spanned 45 years; a commitment that never wavered, even after his retirement as Superintendent in 1989. Whether he was cheering from the sidelines of an athletic event, supporting fundraising efforts as a part of the Onward Lebanon campaign, or instrumental in the renovation of school facilities with SHP, Herb’s fingerprints are all over the district.
Isaac Seevers, Superintendent, said, "I had the personal privilege of meeting Herb in 2016. He was a friend and a champion for our schools long before I arrived in 2021. It was a true joy to hear him recount the history of Lebanon Schools; he didn't just tell our story, he lived it. We join his family, former students, and colleagues in grieving this profound loss.
Herb was the heart of Lebanon, and we are forever grateful for his lifelong service."
