You're Invited to a Community Education Meeting

Jul 28, 2026
community education meeting invitation

The Community Meeting will be held Monday, August 3 from 6 to 7 p.m. at the district office, 160 Miller Road. The meeting will be live-streamed on ICRC and available to watch afterward on our website. Can't come but have a question you'd like to have answered? Send your question to: ContactLebanon@LebanonSchools.org.

WHY THIS IS IMPORTANT NOW State property tax reform has reduced our anticipated revenue by $13 million over the next four years and changes to state law and property tax restrictions have effectively frozen our local tax revenue. District expenses will out pace our capped revenue.

Without a new source of revenue our district will face a staggering $8.5 million yearly deficit by 2030 and a $11.2 million deficit in 2031, leaving us with a negative $7.2 million cash balance by 2031.

Right now, the cost of running our school district is growing at 3.77% annually due to inflation, rising operational costs, and specialized student needs.

Meanwhile, our overall income is only growing at 2.06% per year which creates a widening gap where expenses outpace revenue. While we have made spending adjustments annually, this shortfall problem cannot be overcome by minor budget changes.

In addition, Lebanon is seeing a major spike in housing developments and new families. As our community grows, we need scalable funding.

ASK QUESTIONS The Board of Education is hosting a Community Education Meeting August 3 to share more information with the public, answer questions, and gather feedback. Attend the meeting to ask your question or submit it ahead of time to: ContactLebanon@LebanonSchools.org.
