Join us in congratulating Lebanon High School senior Callahan “Callie” Carroll for winning the Franklin B. Walter All-Scholastic Award!
Callie represents the best of what we hope for in our students - she personifies the district’s mission of ‘reflective, respectful, and responsible’ in all she does. A standout in the classroom and community, Callie has demonstrated a deep commitment to learning, leading a serving, values that not only align with our district’s mission, but with the University of Dayton’s motto, where she will continue her academic journey this fall. At UD, Callie plans to major in Medicinal-Pharmaceutical Chemistry and minor in Business, an ambitious and intentional path that will lay the foundation for her ultimate goal of becoming a patent attorney. Her love for science was sparked by success in AP Chemistry class with teacher Tom Hoeffel, while her passion for business grew through her leadership as an officer in the Future Business Leaders of America chapter. But Callie’s impact reaches far beyond academics. She is a servant leader - actively involved in community service initiatives such as the National Honor Society Blood Drive, Freshman Focus, Hope Squad, and regular volunteering at the Lebanon Food Pantry. Her heart for service, paired with her drive to lead and learn, make her an inspiring example for all students.
Callie is motivated, thoughtful, and ready to make a lasting difference in the world. Congratulations, Callie! We are proud of you!
The Franklin B. Walter All-Scholastic Award was established in 1989 by Ohio’s County Superintendents to recognize student achievement and promote academic accomplishment. To win, students must demonstrate outstanding academic achievement as indicated by grades, courses taken, college placement scores, a written essay, and community activities. The scholarship is given to one student in each school district in the state. The award bears the name of Dr. Franklin B. Walter, who served as State Superintendent from 1977-1991.
