Message From Our Guidance Department

Posted on: August 12, 2019

Dear new and returning parents and students:

Welcome and welcome back to LJHS!  We are excited to start the 2019-20 school year with a fresh “look” in the guidance department. New this year is Ms. Leslie Marsh, a School Counseling graduate from the University of Cincinnati. Ms. Marsh has replaced Mr. King and will serve students with the letters L-Z and answer scheduling questions for all eighth grade students.  Ms. Bacher will continue to work with students last names A-Z and deal with all seventh grade scheduling. Ms. Bacher is starting her 17th year at Lebanon City Schools.

Our guidance team helps support students academically and socially with a strong focus on our students mental well-being.  The guidance department helps coordinate several events and groups.  These include Redo Day (8th grade), Career Day, classroom visits, Hope Squad, Peer Ambassadors, and our mentoring program, Warrior Society.

In addition to our two school counselors, we are lucky enough to have Mrs. Rachel Bayer and Ms. Patti Baker, Children’s Hospital Therapist, as an additional support system for our students. Anyone interested in school based therapy for their student needs to start with either Ms. Marsh (L-Z) or Ms. Bacher (A-K).  We also have Ms. Tracy Funke returning as our schools’ Resource Coordinator. Ms. Funke works to help Lebanon families find resources from housing and food, to supplying students with basic necessities.

We’re looking forward to an amazing school year!
