Lebanon City Schools Preschool
WELCOME TO PRESCHOOL!
This welcome packet includes quite a bit of information to help you become acquainted (or reacquainted) with the Lebanon Preschool Program. Please review the information in this packet to make sure that you have the most up-to-date information.
- Sample schedule for all of our classrooms. Times and activities are subject to change on a day to day basis depending on guest, events, or special activities.
- Some local educational activity opportunities for families. (Some require payment.) This is not a comprehensive list.
- Activities and resources for parents of students in special education.
- Is your child new to preschool? Are you worried that they might not know what to expect or might miss you during the day? Reading stories and seeing pictures about the sorts of things that happen at school can be a big help towards calming the first-day jitters.
- Transitions can be hard! Here is a teacher curated list of suggestions to ease your student's transition to preschool.
- If your child is struggling with the transition into school for more than just a few days, your child’s teacher and classroom staff will work with you to help with more specific ways to ease your child’s transition into the classroom.
Preschool Registration for the 2025-2026 school year is full.

Lebanon City Schools provides specialized instruction for preschoolers to all children ages 3-5. We are a 5-Star rated preschool. The Lebanon City Schools Early Childhood Program was developed to serve children with a wide variety of special needs in response to a federal mandate that requires the provision of special education services (to children ages three to five) by public school districts. The current program model was adopted to include children with typical development in order to create a community of learners, one with an appropriate and enriching environment and experience for all.
We have 4 inclusive classrooms at Bowman Primary School with a maximum of 16 students in each class (8 with special needs and 8 with typical development). Each class has one teacher and one dedicated class aide at all times. All teachers have a 4-year and/or Masters degree. We also offer additional enrichment programs (in class "field trips") or extra programming on site: Lebanon Library brings story time into our preschool classes once a month, we have also brought in the Cincinnati Museum Center, Cincinnati Zoo, Music Therapy, Warren County Soil & Water Conservation Group, and additional programming as budget and schedule allows throughout the year.
Gold Step Up To Quality Award - In recognition of a commitment to quality and an ongoing dedication to the learning and development of children, Lebanon City Schools Preschool program has received a Gold Step Up To Quality Award from the state of Ohio.
Step Up To Quality is a rating system that awards a Bronze to Gold rating to learning and development programs that go above and beyond basic licensing standards. Gold-rated programs lay the foundation for children’s learning and development and build skills that are important for success in school and in life. Programs with Gold ratings employ highly trained teachers, develop children’s school readiness skills, commit to continuous improvement, and value relationships with families and communities. Research confirms the first five years of a child’s life have a direct impact on how well children develop emotionally, in addition to learning and social skills.
