Notice of Board of Education Vacancy & Application Process

The Lebanon City School District Board of Education seeks applications to fill the unexpired term of Board Member Michelle Berry, who resigned May 15, 2024. The Board of Education accepted Mrs. Berry’s resignation at their May 20, 2024 meeting.The Board must name a replacement within 30 days of the acceptance of Mrs. Berry’s resignation. The newly appointed member will serve a two-year term expiring December 31, 2025. If the appointed member desires to continue serving, he or she must run for the seat in November of 2025 for a two-year term expiring December 31, 2027. Michelle Berry was elected to the Board of Education November 2023 and sworn in at the Board's January 8, 2024 meeting. 

Those interested in serving on the Lebanon City School District Board of Education should fill out an application found here. (NOTE: when you click on the link, you will be asked to create a new document for your application.) According to Ohio law, people serving on Ohio school boards must be at least 18 years old, district residents, and registered voters.

Applications will be accepted until close of business May 28, 2024. Completed applications can be emailed to ervin.karen@lebanonschools.org or dropped off at the District Office located at 160 Miller Road. 

The Board will meet at 7:00 a.m. June 4 to review applications and determine candidates to interview at a work session scheduled on June 11, 2024. The Board will appoint the replacement member at their next regularly scheduled meeting, 6:00 p.m. June 17, 2024.
