Welcome Class of 2039!

REGISTRATION INFORMATION & DATES

  • Kindergarten registration for the 2026-2027 school year will open on March 1, 2026.

  • NEW THIS YEAR - A change to Ohio law changed the age requirement for entrance into kindergarten. In the past, schools could use dates like August 1 or September 30 to decide if a child was old enough for kindergarten. The new law (House Bill 114) removes those options. Under House Bill 114, a child must be five years old by the first instructional day of school to start kindergarten.

  • If your child turns five on or before the first day of school, they can start kindergarten this year. If your child turns five after the first day of school, they must wait until the following school year to enroll in kindergarten. If you have any questions or need help figuring out your child's eligibility, please contact the Registration Office: 513-934-5798.

  • For the 2026-2027 school year, the first day of school for Kindergarten students is August 19, 2026. Therefore, if your child is 5 years old on or before August 19, 2026, they are eligible for kindergarten this year.

  • Lebanon City Schools offers half day Kindergarten. Morning or afternoon Kindergarten assignments are made based on which "zone" you live in. Having these attendance zones helps us to keep class sizes balanced. Click here to see which zone you live in.

  • Registration is a two-part process: first you will fill out the online enrollment forms beginning March 1, then you will make an in-person appointment at District Office, located at 160 Miller Road. Click here to see a map.

  • Follow the district on Facebook to keep up with important news and updates!

KINDERGARTEN F.A.Q.

How old do you have to be to go to Kindergarten in the 2026/2027 school year?

Students must be five on or before the first day of school for kindergarten students, which is August 19, 2026.

Does Lebanon have full day Kindergarten?

No. We have only AM or PM Kindergarten.

Can I choose if I would like for my child to attend AM or PM Kindergarten?

No. This is based on your home address or the address of your daycare provider. This allows us to keep balanced class sizes.

How do I find out if my address is an AM or PM address?

Click here to see the list of AM and PM addresses.

How does the district respond to a request to change from AM to PM if my child does not ride the bus?

Requests may be made by emailing the Kindergarten Secretary at cuyler.lynn@lebanonschools.org. Please note that honoring requests are based on student enrollment and in the past have been rarely accommodated.  A decision will be communicated at the beginning of the school year.

What if I don't have a copy of immunization records when I register my child?

Immunization records can be turned in up until the second week of school.

Is Kindergarten registration first come, first served?

No. All students who are 5 on or before the first day of school will be placed in a classroom.

If I live in Lebanon do I have to register my child in Lebanon?

Usually, yes.  You have the option to enroll your student at a private school.  There are also some districts that will accept residents from Lebanon, but approval for a spot isn’t guaranteed.
